Internship: Electronic Technician

More than talent, it takes amazing people who are willing to go the extra mile to develop great products… Videon, a prominent developer of streaming media and digital video products for the consumer electronics market, is searching for an exceptional student available to work part-time around class schedule during the school year, with the potential for full-time hours in the summer. An internship with Videon is characterized as technically challenging, and rewards students not only with a cool place to work, but with the opportunity to be part of a team working on consumer products that represent the leading edge of technology.  

Interns at Videon are responsible for understanding our products and the systems or end environment they go into. They will learn to troubleshoot to component level, repair printed circuit boards, and document findings and repairs.

Qualified applicants should be:

  • Working towards a degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology or other technical degree

  • Knowledgeable of basic electronics

  • Familiar with test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and multimeters

  • Able to read schematics and assembly drawings

  • Capable of working in teams or alone

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic

  • Able to communicate effectively in person and in writing

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

How interns contribute to the team:

  • Troubleshoot units and circuit cards to component level using applicable schematics and assembly documents

  • Set up standard test apparatus or device test equipment and circuitry to troubleshoot and repair products

  • Perform extended stress testing

  • Assemble test fixtures, cables or complete unit level assembly according to engineering instructions, schematics, assembly drawings, technical manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components
