State College, PA -- Paul Brown and Todd Erdley have worked together for twenty-five years, since Todd started his first company. The pair will continue their partnership as Paul takes on a new role: President of Videon Central.
Paul and Todd's close working relationship is apparent to those of us who work alongside the pair. When Paul sneezes, Todd stops talking and starts counting--he knows his long-time colleague always sneezes in sets of three. They complete each other's sentences and enthusiastically discuss technological problems and trends. Most importantly, their skills are highly complementary.
"I'm more strategic and like to focus on the big picture: long term strategy, large scale trends, and big ideas" says CEO Todd Erdley. "Paul has always complemented that with a focus on the details: closer-term problem solving, goals, and tactics. He has deep knowledge of how every facet of Videon works. And his new role as President acknowledges that focus and drive while empowering Paul to drive the company forward."
Both Todd and Paul reminisce about their early days of working together, when Paul was an intern at the first company Todd started. When that company disbanded, Paul came along with Todd to start Videon Central. In Videon's early days Paul was a hardware engineer, quickly developing business responsibilities alongside his technical ones. Paul's titles have ranged from Design Engineer and General Manager to Chief Product Officer and, most recently, Executive Vice President. He is also a member of Videon's Board of Directors.
"It's been a running joke to keep track of all the different titles I've held over the years," says Paul. "That reflects how I've worked in many different areas within the company. As President, I look forward to bringing that company-wide knowledge together in a way that will serve all of Videon."
It's with great pleasure that Todd and the rest of the Videon family welcome Paul as the new President of the company.
